Founded in Switzerland in 2021 by scientists and engineers, DeSci Labs was the first to build a fully open-access scientific publishing platform on Web3: DeSci Publish. To date, we’ve raised over $8 million in funding and are preparing for an upcoming token launch designed to shift ownership of scientific infrastructure to the global research community.
What We’re Building
- DeSci Publish: A revolutionary preprint network where manuscripts, data, and code coexist. It offers AI-powered analytics, version control, validated badges, and automatic submission tools. This summer, we are launching decentralized journals - eliminating paywalls and publication fees.
- CODEX (Collaborative Data Exchange): An open scholarly protocol designed to create a persistent, collaborative scientific record. It ensures research artifacts are securely stored, universally accessible, and transparently validated.
- Web3 Incentives: A token economy that rewards reviewers and editors for fast, high-quality evaluation and curation services, redistributing wealth from commercial publishers to the scientists who advance the creation of knowledge.
- AI tools for science: We are about to launch an AI research assistant and an AI-powered reviewer finder. Our vision is to create a “truth engine” for science that will help everyone to quickly get trustworthy, robust scientific insights.

The Role: Freelance X / Twitter Manager (Crypto / Web3)
We’re looking for a part-time X / Twitter Social Media Manager to take our @DeSciLabs account (currently ~23K followers) to the next level, with a target of 100K+ followers over the next year. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes Crypto X, understands Web3 culture, and knows how to turn complex ideas into compelling narratives, memes, and threads.
You’ll own our day-to-day presence on X - creating content, driving engagement, and running experiments to accelerate our growth in the Web3 and DeSci ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
📢 Content Creation & Scheduling (~2 hr/day)
- Draft and post 2–5 tweets per day (original content, memes, threads, quote tweets).
- Adapt content from blog posts, Discord chats, product updates, and relevant Web3 news.
- Maintain a weekly content calendar and pre-schedule posts.
- Design graphics, clips, or carousels.
🤝 Engagement & Growth (~1.5 hr/day)
- Actively engage with influencers, thought leaders, founders, researchers, and protocols in Web3 and DeSci.
- Reply to and quote top tweets; participate in trending conversations in real time.
- Coordinate partnerships, AMAs, and X Spaces; handle DM outreach to potential collaborators.
- Curate “signal” content lists or weekly highlight threads to attract new followers.
📊 Monitoring & Reporting (~30 min/day)
- Track engagement, impressions, follower growth, saves, and click-throughs.
- Identify top-performing content and codify winning formats and hooks.
- Produce a brief weekly dashboard and monthly growth update with insights and recommendations.
- Attend weekly call to update on progress
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Deep knowledge of Web3, crypto culture, and current narratives.
- Proven track record of growing X/Twitter accounts to at least 50K+ followers.
- Sharp copywriting skills and an eye for memes, hooks, and viral formats.
- Ability to spot and jump on relevant conversations in real time.
- Data-driven mindset with comfort in using analytics to guide strategy.
- Self-starter who can run a consistent posting and engagement cadence with minimal oversight.
Nice to Have
- Experience hosting X Spaces or moderating live discussions.
- Basic design/video editing skills (Figma, Canva, CapCut).
- Familiarity with open science, academic publishing, or research communities.
