DeSci Reviewer Finder streamlines reviewer selection in six easy steps
Upload a PDF of the submission. The tool extracts key metadata such as authors, affiliations, title, abstract, and references.
Our AI processes the metadata, organizing author information and references to set the foundation for accurate referee matching.
We identify key references, calculate novelty scores, and find the most closely related publications from the past 5 years using OpenAlex.
Authors of the key references and related publications are extracted to build a pool of qualified, topic-relevant referee candidates.
Automatic checks exclude referees who have co-authored with the authors in the past 5 years, share an institution, or have known supervisor/supervisee relationships.
Uploaded PDFs are deleted within 24 hours. Only extracted metadata and analysis results are stored for users to revisit, with access limited to you and DeSci Labs.
DeSci Reviewer Finder is an AI-powered tool that helps journal editors and research funders quickly identify qualified and conflict-free reviewers for scientific manuscripts or grant applications. It analyzes the submitted document, extracts key metadata (such as title, abstract, references, and authors), and utilizes OpenAlex to identify the most relevant experts. The tool also performs conflict-of-interest checks and provides novelty scores for manuscripts to support editorial decisions.
DeSci Reviwer Finder analyzes the manuscript or grant application you upload by extracting key metadata. It then uses OpenAlex to identify the most semantically related scientific publications from the past five years. From these, it extracts the authors of key references and related papers to build a pool of potential reviewers. Finally, it runs conflict-of-interest checks to exclude reviewers who have recently co-authored with the submitting authors, are from the same institution, or have had a supervisory relationship. The result is a prioritized list of qualified, conflict-free referee suggestions, along with a novelty score for the uploaded document to support editorial decision-making.
They are only stored on our servers internally. We are not sharing uploaded documents with third parties or the public. Uploaded documents are deleted 24 hours after the user last ran an analysis for that document.
We delete the uploaded documents from our servers within 24 hours. We only keep the extracted meta-data of these documents (e.g., author names, title, abstract) and the results of the analysis we conducted to enable users to look up the results of their referee suggestions later. Only DeSci Labs and the user will have access to that information. We're using cloud servers from Microsoft Azure or AWS to store and process the uploaded manuscripts.
No, uploaded data is used solely for generating referee suggestions and not for any other purposes.
All analyses are performed exclusively using the OpenAlex dataset.
